The Experience – Private Charter Tour – 8-10 hours with campfire dinner
Internationally reviewed as one of Australia’s most exceptional nature experiences and remarkable Tasmanian wildlife viewing tours – discover the wilderness, wildlife, and tastes of Tasmania on this afternoon/evening tour. Enjoy the ambience of superb campfire dinner followed by sensational wildlife viewing which focuses on the antics of the eastern quoll in its natural habitat. Dine with the forester kangaroos, see brush-tail possums, eastern quolls, and Tasmanian pademelons while wombats and Bennett’s wallaby graze close by.
Depart Saffire by helicopter for a 40 minute flight to a wilderness cabin in the Tyne Valley. You will be greeted by your guide with campfire ablaze, wine chilled and a tasting platter ready to go. (4WD departure also available – 1.45 hours).
Optional Extension – A 60-minute helicopter transfer to meet your guide to visit Ben Lomond National Park. Ben Lomond is a spectacular mountain of dolerite columns and scree slopes. This alpine wonderland is home to eight of the twenty highest peaks in Tasmania. Awesome views and a magnificent array of alpine vegetation are on offer. Ben Lomond plays an invaluable role in regional wildlife conservation and is the highest drivable point in Tasmania.
The Campfire Dinner
With the forester kangaroos as your dinner companions, enjoy the ambience of campfire dining with a 3-course dinner consisting of Tasmanian tasting platter of cheeses and smoked meats followed by Bush Pattie Yummo Gumbo or Native Spice Salmon/Salad with dessert to finish. Settle back and relax with a Tassie beverage and see our field of dreams come alive.
Nocturnal Wildlife Viewing
Be delighted and enchanted while sitting by the campfire as the wildlife appear at dusk. Forester kangaroos, eastern quolls, Tasmanian pademelons and brush-tail possums feed near the campfire while Bennett’s wallabies and wombats graze close by. Platypus, tawny frogmouths, bandicoots, and owls can also be viewed. Return to your accommodation by 4WD (2 hours) at 10.00 – 12.00 pm (seasonal)
