Tassie Devils & Tasmanian Wildlife with Trowunna
Trowunna Wildlife Sanctuary. – Departing Launceston at 9.00 am and travel to the Meander Valley to visit the Trowunna Wildlife Sanctuary for a private tour. A visit to Trowunna Wildlife Sanctuary is like stepping into a real-life Aussie animal wonderland! Nestled in the heart of Tasmania, this sanctuary is all about connecting you with some of Australia’s most iconic and quirky wildlife. Get ready to meet the famously feisty Tassie devils as they show off their cheeky personalities.
You’ll also spot the elusive, spotted-tailed quolls, adorable wombats and friendly kangaroos who might hop over to say g’day. The passionate guides are brimming with fascinating facts and stories, making the experience fun for all ages. Leaving Trowunna, we journey to the beautiful Tamar Valley.
Josef Chromy Wines – Enjoy a relaxed wine tasting experience at Josef Chromy Wines, one of Tasmania’s most awarded vineyards, surrounded by picturesque lakes and rolling vineyard views. Sample a selection of cool-climate wines while soaking in the peaceful atmosphere and exceptional hospitality of this renowned Tasmanian winery.

Lunch at Josef Chromy Restaurant
Lunch at Josef Chromy Restaurant – A lunch at the restaurant at Josef Chromy Wines is a true Tasmanian dining experience, combining elegant cuisine with stunning vineyard and lake views. The seasonal menu showcases fresh local produce, expertly prepared to highlight the flavours of Tasmania. Dishes are thoughtfully matched to Josef Chromy’s award-winning cool-climate wines. Guests can relax in the contemporary dining room or enjoy alfresco seating overlooking the water and vines, with dishes ranging from freshly harvested seafood to premium local meats and vibrant garden produce. Every course reflects the quality and richness of Tasmania’s renowned food and wine region.
Velo Wines – After lunch, we travel to Velo Wines in the West Tamar region, where you will enjoy the wine, the knowledge, and the relaxed character of the cellar door personnel. The vineyard has particular significance, with the first vines planted in 1966 by Tasmanian wine industry icon Graham Wiltshire. Vines, including Cabernet Sauvignon and Pinot Noir, make the Cabernet vines among the oldest in Tasmania. A fact not lost on people with wine knowledge who understand the importance and influence of vine age on grape quality.
