Day 1 – Ben Lomond & Quoll Patrol – Reviewed as one of Australia’s best wildlife viewing tours
Premium Australian wildlife viewing tour – a day in the highland areas of north east Tasmania.
Self-drive to Scottsdale or Pepper Bush Adventures transfer from Launceston to Scottsdale. An afternoon departure from Scottsdale to visit Ben Lomond National Park, a spectacular mountain of dolerite columns and scree slopes. Impressive views and a stunning array of alpine vegetation on offer. We travel via the Roses Tier for a forest discovery drive en route to the Tyne Valley for a campfire dinner with the forester kangaroos. Relax by the camp fire as our field of dreams comes alive with eastern quolls, brush-tail possums & Tasmanian pademelons all visiting the camp fire while Bennett’s wallaby & wombats graze close- by.
Day 1 – Optional Morning Activity – Trowunna Wildlife Park
A morning departure from Launceston to travel to the Trowunna Wildlife Park for a private Tasmania wildlife tour, you can cuddle a wombat and meet the Tasmanian devils, spotted tailed quolls and other fur and feathered residents. Travel to Evandale for lunch at the local bakery and meet your afternoon/evening wildlife guide to continue on to Ben Lomond and the Quoll Patrol. (Not available for self-drive)

Day 2 – Platypus Viewing and Magnificent Ancient Forests
A day of unique geology, forests and landscapes while visiting Mt. Victoria Forest Reserve, St Columba Falls, Pyengana Cheese Factory and Mt. Paris Dam. Departing Beulah Heritage after breakfast we travel to the outskirts of Scottsdale to view the elusive platypus. Then on to the Mt. Victoria Forest Reserve where short walks will take your through three varying landscapes – rain forest, melaleuca forest and button grass plains which along with the single drop Ralph’s Falls provides a superb nature experience. Leaving Mt. Victoria we then journey to the tiered St. Columba Falls at Pyengana with lunch at the Holy Cow Cafe. On the return journey we take a short walk in the Weldborough Pass myrtle forest and visit the old and disused Mt. Paris Dam site where nature is reclaiming the site with nostalgic flare.
Day 2 – Optional Evening Canopy Capers Tour
Capture the timeless ambience of Tasmania’s bush on this Australian nocturnal wildlife tour. Listen to the afternoon sounds of the bush chorus from nearby birds, enjoy a campfire dinner and a nocturnal walk in the forest to see and hear the brushtail & ringtail possums, pademelon & Bennett’s wallabies and bettongs go about their nightly business.
