The Experience – Private Charter Tour – 10 days / 10 nights
Day 1 – Launceston – Trowunna Wildlife Sanctuary – Strahan
Today we travel to the beautiful Meander Valley for a private tour at the Trowunna Wildlife Park. Cuddle a wombat, meet the Tasmanian devil, spotted tailed quoll and other fur and feathered residents. After lunch we continue the journey to Strahan

Day 2 – Strahan – Gordon River Cruise
Cruise the Gordon River with World Heritage Cruises. A full day, see Hell’s Gates, Salmon farms, guided Sarah Island stop-over, Gordon River heritage landing board walk and Huon Pine Sawmill with a buffet lunch. Before dinner, sit in on the interactive play, The Ship That Never Was

Day 3 – Cradle Mountain
Departing Corinna we go to Cradle Mountain. Take in the alpine wonderland where ancient pines fringe glacial lakes and icy streams cascade down rugged mountains by visiting Dove Lake, Waldheim Lodge with a variety of walks on offer.

Day 4 – Tamar Valley, Platypus House & Seahorse World
Departing Cradle Mountain we travel to the beautiful Tamar Valley. See Australia’s monotremes at Beauty Point’s Platypus House and also visit Seahorse World. Time permitting we will stop by a vineyard on the way to Scottsdale.

Day 5 – Ben Lomond and Quoll Patrol
Tasmania wildlife tour – Depart Scottsdale for Ben Lomond National Park, a spectacular mountain of dolerite columns and scree slopes. Impressive views and a stunning array of alpine vegetation are on offer. From Tasmanian Parks & Wildlife, “The Ben Lomond National Park is invaluable for the conservation of the flora communities and species diversity of Tasmania’s alpine areas. The area consists of an outstanding variety of glacial and periglacial features which are considered of national significance”. A picnic lunch before travelling via the Roses Tier Forests to the Tyne Valley for a campfire dinner with the forester kangaroos. Relax by the camp fire as our field of dreams comes alive with eastern quolls, brush-tail possums & Tasmanian pademelons visiting the camp fire while Bennett’s wallaby and wombats graze close-by.

Day 6 – Mt. William National Park & Bay of Fires region
Explore the Mt. William National Park and Bay of Fires region to enjoy the stunning coastline, pristine white beaches, turquoise ocean and lichen covered granite rock formations. Birdlife is abundant with over 100 species in the far north east of Tasmania. The eastern grey kangaroo and wombats are part of the rich diversity of flora and fauna.

Day 7 – Platypus spotting, Forest Reserves & Penguin Tour
Start the day with some platypus spotting and sightseeing our way to the Mt Elephant Pass Pancake Parlour for lunch. After lunch we travel to the warm sand and turquoise ocean, mellow afternoons and long, seaside twilights of Bicheno on the east coast. We visit East Coast Natureworld and after dark guided through a private penguin rookery by Bicheno Penguin Tours which allows you to view these remarkable birds, up close and undisturbed in their own environment.

Day 8 – Freycinet National Park Activities
Experience Freycinet Peninsula on a morning 3.5 hour cruise with Wineglass Bay Cruises. Departing at 10.00 am you will explore the granite cliffs and sea caves, then onto Wineglass Bay relax on board the catamaran, the Schouten Passage, with a ploughman’s lunch. The remainder of the afternoon can be spent visiting Cape Tourville a local vineyard and the Bicheno Blow Hole.

Day 9 – Heritage Highway & Mt Field National Park
Today we travel via the Heritage Highway to the beautiful Derwent Valley. En route we stop at the colonial town of Ross for a town walk and view the Ross Bridge. Leaving Ross we travel to Mt Field, Tasmania’s oldest National Park, featuring the magnificent Russell Falls. Take the Tall Trees Walk through the ferns and rain forest and some of the world’s tallest eucalypt forest to Russell Falls, Horseshoe Falls and finishing the day in Hobart. Day 10 – Bruny Island Cruise
Breakfast from 6.30 am and leave Lenna at 7.30 am for the 10 minute walk to the Franklin Wharf. Departing the Pennicott Journey’s Booking office at 8.00 am, Bruny Island Charters will introduce you to untouched wilderness and abundant wildlife on this relaxing 3 hour, 50 km eco-cruise. After your scenic coach drive from Hobart, embark on your cruise and be surrounded by Australia’s highest, unique cliffs as you hover within their reach. View massive caves and marine and bird life, visit Friar Rocks, home to Australian Fur Seals, and so much more. Return to Hobart around 5.30pm.
