Have your camera ready for the snap for 3 tour days and 2 nocturnal tours in pursuing Tasmania’s remaining five endemic mammals, two monotremes and another six bush favourites to form the Bushie’s Bakers Dozen. We’re looking to have a lot of fun with anyone up for the challenge. Bush Magic includes the Quoll Patrol & Canopy Capers tours along with a private tour at Trowunna Wildlife Park
Tasmania’s Big 5
Tasmania has several unique animals found nowhere else in the world. The Tasmanian devil is well-known but others such as the eastern quoll, Tasmanian bettong and pademelon and long tailed mouse are less well-known but equally as fascinating. These five endemic Tasmanian mammals form Tasmania’s Big 5.
Australia’s Magnificent 7
Together with Tasmania’s five endemic mammal species, Pepper Bush Adventures has included Tasmania’s two resident monotremes, the fascinating platypus and charming echidna to form Australia’s Magnificent 7. The elusive platypus and echidna make for exciting additons to the hunt.
Bushie’s Bakers Dozen
Well… all we can say is GO THE BAKERS DOZEN! Tasmania’s endemic mammals and resident monotremes are joined by some of our bush favourites to form Bushie’s Bakers Dozen. The Bennett’s wallaby, the endearing bare-nosed wombat and brush-tail possum along with Tasmania’s most efficient and revered predator, the spotted tailed quoll are joined by the eastern barred and southern brown bandicoots to round out the Bakers Dozen.
Let the hunt begin and the chance is there to view thirteen of Tasmania’s wildlife species over 3 tour days and 2 nocturnal tours.
Bushie’s Bush Favourites Forest Birds
Although the Tasmanian birdlife doesn’t feature in Bushie’s Bakers Dozen, there are many opportunities to view some of Tasmania’s plentiful bird species.
Pepper Bush Adventures will retain a score tally of how many species are discovered by each participant. A hat badge will be awarded for each successful sighting on this Tasmanian wildlife experience.
Tasmanian Devil Sponsorship
This program includes sponsorship of a Tasmanian devil at the Trowunna Wildlife Park’s Tasmanian devil breeding program. See a photographic list of devils that you can choose to sponsor here. On day three you will visit Trowunna to meet your sponsored devil.
