One of Australia’s greatest wildlife experiences
Premium Tasmanian safari in the wilderness and campfire dining
Reviewed internationally as one of Australia’s best nature experiences – discover the wilderness, wildlife and tastes of Tasmania on this afternoon/evening tour. Enjoy a ambience of a gourmet campfire dinner followed by amazing wildlife viewing which focuses on the antics of the eastern quoll in its natural habitat.
Visit Ben Lomond National Park, a spectacular mountain of dolerite columns and scree slopes and home to eight of the twenty highest peaks in Tasmania. Awesome views and a magnificent array of alpine vegetation are on offer. The park plays an invaluable role in regional wildlife conservation. Ben Lomond is the highest drivable point in Tasmania.
The Campfire Dinner with the Kangaroos
Your dinner companions this evening will be the local forester kangaroos who graze nearby. While your guide is preparing the meal, enjoy some interaction with these very sociable kangaroos who may even be up for a selfie with you. Dinner is a 4-course campfire dining experience and a Tasmanian, somewhat bush tucker affair, consisting of a Tasmanian cheese platter with Tasmanian smoked chicken, salmon and wallaby followed by wallaby mountain burgers and native spiced salmon. Settle back and relax with a Tassie beer or wine and watch the sun set to experience one of nature’s best after-dark wildlife viewing displays going around.
Be amazed by a special nocturnal encounter with some of Tasmania’s unique and endearing native characters from the bush: Eastern quolls, pademelon and Bennett’s wallabies, wombats and brush tail possums all close by. With owls, bandicoots and tawny frogmouths as some of the other local residents.
